Easy Caramel Slice

Ingredients

Base

  • 150g Plain Flour

  • 80g Brown Sugar

  • 45g Desiccated Coconut

  • 125g Unsalted Butter (melted)

Other layers

  • Coles Caramel Sauce (whole jar)

  • 180g Milk Chocolate (cooking chocolate)

  • 1 tbsp Coconut Oil

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees celsius and line a slice tray with baking paper

  2. Combine base ingredients together and press into the tray with the back of a spoon (aim for a thin, even and firm layer)

  3. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes or until slightly golden on top

  4. Spread the caramel filling evenly over the biscuit base

  5. Melt the chocolate and coconut oil in the microwave, giving it a stir every 20 seconds (should only need 60 seconds total)

  6. Pour chocolate over the top of the caramel layer evenly

  7. Set in the fridge for 2 hours before serving

Tips

  • Keep in the fridge for up to a week

  • For easy slicing, warm up the knife before cutting into the slice, this will reduce the likelihood of the chocolate cracking

  • When lining the tray make sure there is over hang of baking paper so it is easy to remove when ready
